Adele Astaire and her brother Fred became a famous dance team in the late 1910s, appearing in Broadway revues such as the Gershwin brothers’ ‘Lady, Be Good’ and ‘Funny Face.’ The pair danced and performed together throughout most of their lives, until Adele left show business to get married in 1932, which set Fred’s solo career in motion.
