Baby Face finds Barbara Stanwyck sleeping her way up the corporate ladder, with such dreamy steps as John Wayne(!), Douglass Dumbrille, Donald Cook, Henry Kolker AND George Brent. Yeah, that’s one long ladder!!! CLIMB BABY, CLIMB!!! Man, I need to see every Stanwyck movie ever
Colin Clive is Christopher Strong, a man with a perfect wife (Billie Burke) and a ditzy daughter (Helen Chandler), but things get less than perfect when aviatrix Katharine Hepburn flies into his life, and lifts off with his heart. Dorothy Arzner directs this romantic tug-of-war with a lady’s touch, and with ending that crash and burns, both literally and figuratively!
