I fell hard for Mary Nolan in 1930′s Young Desire (shown at the MoMA as part of their excellent Son of Universal: More Rediscovered Gems from the Laemmle Years film series), and then she fell. I will not say any more, but I will simply say that the end of this film is one of the saddest, most unexpected endings to a movie I have perhaps ever seen. OH MY LORDE!!!!
