A true Colleen is she – Colleen Moore makes her debut as a talking and singing star of the movies in the First National Vitaphone Picture, [1929′s] Smiling Irish Eyes, which is now in production at The First National Studios. According to reports from the camera and microphone lines, Colleen did not need any coaching to perfect her gift of blarney and brogue which will be heard when the picture is completed. The star will sing ‘When Irish Eyes Are Smiling’ and a number of other melodies reminiscent of the Emerald Isle. James Hall is playing the leading masculine role in the picture
